RYA was challenged with reinventing the existing Calvin Klein Underwear Store creating the prototype of the future. The result is a new 1,800 square foot Calvin Klein Underwear specialty store in NorthPark Center in Dallas, Texas. The store entrance is asymmetrical differentiating the Calvin Klein Underwear store from the other mall retailers. From a planning standpoint, a strong focus and differentiation has been established between the men's and women's merchandise. Each environment has a different look, but a cohesive entity is maintained. A strong emphasis on women's product is demonstrated by its position. With the entrance to the left of the storefront and placing women's on the right-hand of the store, it forces the focus on the women's area upon entering the store. Large areas are dedicated for the permanent placement of graphics capitalizing on photo shoots that CK produces seasonally. One of the greatest assets of the store is the excellent graphic representation, which ties into CK's advertising campaigns. The current fixturing program was studied, modified, and reinvented resulting in the development of new fixtures for the future prototype – both for a stylistical program as well as accommodating new product offer.
