Continuing the evolution of the Bloomingdale's brand image, RYA has provided planning and design services for the conversion of an existing Filene's store to the new 189,000 square foot women's store at Chestnut Hill Mall in the Boston, Massachusetts area. This new Bloomingdale's specialty store houses an array of luxury vendors in a boutique environment.

RYA's design team has integrated the iconic elements from the Bloomingdale's San Francisco Urban Flagship Store into the new store design of the women's Chestnut Hill store. The escalator has been moved to the center of the store. Windows, HID lighting, higher ceilings, and the signature black-and-white checkerboard floor have been added to create a spacious, bright and easy-to-shop atmosphere.

This specialty store offers luxury brands that include Chanel, Fendi, Chloe, Burberry, Jimmy Choo, and Ferragamo. The main level houses cosmetics, handbags, jewelry, and women's shoes. A feeling of luxury and intimacy sets the tone for the woman's shoe department or the "shoe salon". On Level Two, the iconic black "eyebrow" houses a variety of designers and bridge sportswear. The intimate department utilizes a mirrored framework to showcase designer merchandise. The Y.E.S. area on Level Three has a clean, crisp contemporary feel. The over scaled rear projection walls bring the latest in runway fashion to the Y.E.S. customer. The iconic black and white children's department features an array of designer children's fashion.
