(2004 Chain Store Age Retail Store of the Year – FIRST PLACE and 2004 ISP/VM+SD International Store Design Competition – AWARD OF MERIT) With its new motto "Where Treasures Live," Bailey Banks & Biddle took its 172-year history of great service, quality and value, and updated it to its target female customer, who is 35 to 45 years old and whose lifestyle has significantly changed over the years. Inspired by this mission of modernization, RYA designed a dramatic environment that is softer and more residential in décor by featuring a seating area with cushioned armchairs and a coffee table displaying semiprecious jewelry and Daum crystal ornaments under its glass top. Through the sensuously curved glass store façade and filigree grilled entryway, "she" is transported into a refreshing elegance, where every detail has been considered in a refined, comfortable but unmistakably new environment. With its neutral palette of cherry wood, fawn suede and brushed nickel, the Houston flagship has state-of-the-art fiber optics lighting, lower-profile display cases and softer use of color and materials, so it would be all about the jewelry, creating a very high touch environment.
